The Cubs are playing Arizona in the NLDS...I could not be any happier....with the Yankees taking the wild card a NY/Chicago World Series would be a Network TV Winner....if that happens I might need to root, root , root for the Cubbies...

United plays Roma in the Champions league at 2:45 EDT.

I enjoy watching college football, golf, poker, and other sporting events in HD on a home theater.  I enjoy beer and brats...but also go for an upscale dinner and glass of wine.  I enjoy classic rock to country to classical music...all can get the blood pumping!

I also enjoy listening to political commentary and becoming an "armchair quarterback" while watching CNN or Fox News.  Stephen Colbert is my hero.  Wrist strong, baby.

But most important of all is my family...spending time with loved ones and sharing smiles makes life worth living!

My one truly passionate interest is playing golf, the course architecture stuff plays second fiddle to actually being out there hitting the ball. I also obviously spend way too much lifespan online discussing golf-related stuff with other monomaniacs.

Outside of that, my other interests are much farther down my hierarchy of needs. I dabble with learning to play viola and, occasionally, guitar. I listen to an awful lot of music of various kinds and spend too much time watching stuff in our home theater.

I also like to spend time walking around our neighborhood and yard keeping an eye on all the people, pets, other critters and whatever plants are in season. I used to spend a lot of time looking at the sky, with or without telescopes, but they've put so many lights up near our house I can't see anything but yellow glare.

Not much of a sports fan. I watch the majors and a couple other golf tournaments plus the occasional Euro Tour event on The Golf Channel on rainy winter mornings. I see one or two NFL football games on TV most weeks and maybe the odd baseball game. Other sports aren't really on my radar.

The capital markets...I find this endlessly fascinating and a game that never sleeps, rests, or ends.

I think I am gathering an interest in travel, this has been facilitated by my love of golf and golf course architecture.

Since i was forced to retire from golf in June 2008, I've taken up 2 other genuine interests. I began painting then and have kept up that hobby consistently. Feeling that I needed still another challenge, I joined my son in his residental real estate business.

I thought when I sold my business in 1998 and retired that I would never work again, but thank goodness I've had this opportunity to be productive again and share it with my son.

If someone will direct me how to post my painting, I'll do so forthwith.
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Gentlemen,

I like reading (internalising is another matter!). I am always up for a hand of bridge and have started playing chess again ( a lovely, solid wooden chessboard for Christmas).

Oh Mac....... you are not alone in having a passion for Aussie sheilas! My Tricia is bonzer!

Gents - I referee high school basketball.  It keeps me occupied during the non-golf season here in the northeast.  And, while it might seem like I'm a glutton for punishment, it's actually a blast.

I'm also a Cleveland Indians fan.  OK, so on second thought, maybe I am a glutton for punishment!

I play blues harmonica - in fact for a while in the late eighties I scraped a living from it.

Here's a photo which turned up on Facebook recently of me in c.1982 with my then band 'Special 20'.

I collect/hoard afro-american folk art and caddy badges. Also I venture to Thailand every year for the Lo Krathong celebration. And I love mariachi bands.

Mostly whatever activities my kids are currently participating in... dance, sports, choir, etc.
Restoring old pinball machines. Mostly late 70's, early 80's stuff from my childhood years.
Beer. Any and all, but love finding new microbreweries from around the country.
Learning to play guitar.
Following the Jayhawks in pretty much all sports, but especially basketball.

My wife and family
Cleveland sports (although, after a lifetime of seeing nothing but heartbreak and losing, I'm quickly losing faith and patience)
My career (trying to improve as a lawyer every day)
Reading about history and keeping up with current events
Playing squash (I needed something to keep me busy when I can't play golf during the long, grey Ohio winter)

If someone will direct me how to post my painting, I'll do so forthwith.

Easiest way would be to snap a digital photo and post that: How to post images on GolfClubAtlas.com

I'd like to see your work.

-----

For craft beer lovers and/or Cleveland residents, if you're in Cleveland, head to Fat Head's Brewery and try a few different types and report back. The owner of the original Fat Head's in Pittsburgh (not a brewpub) is a partner in the Cleveland brewery and a good friend, terrific guy, and I'm hoping his new efforts at his own beer ends up being the next big craft beer.

-----

Can't remember what I posted on here before, but most of my non-work time is consumed by my amazing little guy, he's almost 8 now, best thing that ever happened to me. I do spend what little time I have outside of him trying to stay fit to keep up with him, but lately that seems like I just spend time injuring myself. 44 going on 64...

Anyone else in the group like me and find it harder and harder to be interested in professional golf.  I honestly would watch a hour long video on Crytsal Downs than watch Tiger Woods play golf in the Middle East.

Other than golf courses, I don't have much time left for anything else with my law practice and wife and 5 young kids.  Love spending time with the kids in any activity.  Also follow the Browns - get on the train now as good times are coming!
