Wow, Cabrera's posts a huge number on #6

First tee shot long and left, OB.

Re-tees with same club, same result.

Re-tees with presumably shorter club - hits short of green on bank, rolls back into water.

Drops on other side of hazard.

Pitches over to about 20 feet.

2 puts for a cool smooth 10.

Cabrera's error or poor setup?

Bit of both, I think, though he certainly deserves the lion's share of the blame.

I'm generally not a fan of shaved banks by water.

Me either. I think it is an ugly look. In nature, things grow well near water. However, our time-par gurus tell us that vegetation by water hazards are significant in slow play. You know, you gotta search it extensively in case you might save the penalty.

Are we blaming the shaved bank for the first 4 strokes? We are talking about 6 the par 3.I could see ob happening quicker at 14 as par 3's go but I guess back left of 6 isn't too far to ob.

Are we blaming the shaved bank for the first 4 strokes?

It certainly encourages one not to leave it short.

Except for the fact that the shaved bank is left of the green, not short.

Thanks for the aerial, Chris, the TV shot was certainly misleading.

Revised verdict: Cabrera's fault.

 :)

I still don't care for shaved banks.

Cabrera bounced back, though, with a pair of bogeys.

If I'm not mistaken he 3 putted.  Also, wanted a ruling that his second OB shot was not OB, after he already hit the 3rd shot in the water.
