Is Southern Hills a good course, then?
« on: August 09, 2007, 06:41:36 AM »
Remembering that some of us Europeans have less knowledge of all of your 24,000 courses in the States, can someone enlighten me as to the view of this course in the GCA world... i know it was designed by Perry Maxwell and i know that it usually ranks in about the Top 30 in the US... but I don't know too much else...

thank you

I guess I should have read the thread below linking to the Geoff S. article  ::)

Still, if anyone wishes to reply, more thoughts would be most welcome.

Ally,

You should read the write up on Southern Hills in the "Courses by Country" section of this website.

That's what it's there for.

Ally,

The short answer is YES!!! Southern Hills is a fantastic course, well routed, with great par 3's, a wonderful mix of par 4's and fabulous greens.

There doesn't appear to be a write up in Courses by Country that Patrick mentions, so you should read writeup by Chris Clouser in the In My Opinion section at -> http://www.golfclubatlas.com/clousersh.html
