150th best golfer in Louisiana lol

I keep qualifying for the State Am and Mid Am's each year therefore technically I am one of the best 144 in the state. That should scream loudly how poor golf is in our state. lol However the first and second place finishers in our Club Championship at Oakbourne Cc last weekend qualified for the US Am the next day. I am very proud on Michael Smith for driving to Houston after 3 days of competition in horrible weather to play in Houston the next morning and qualify against a very strong field in the 36 hole qualifier. The treehouse may not think Texas has great courses but they do have great golfers.

Brad you should go straight to the Wisconsin Golf Association and sign up for anything they got. You have game.

Tiger,

I've had the pleasure of playing with the Smith's (what a golf talented family!) and knew Michael very well before I left Lafayette. Thank you for the update on his qualification. I had yet to hear, and am very proud for him. He is a great kid with a wonderful family.

Wyatt, I just had lunch with Michael at Oakbourne. They are indeed the best of people. I have high hopes he can make it to match play and get the full US AM experience. Last year he lost in a playoff to qualify. I will give him your best whenever I see him again over the next few days. Cheers

Scott, I saw that in the paper. I have not had the opportunity to meet Phil. I hope he plays his best game at Southern Hills this week.

Wyatt, you will be pleased to know we are finally going to expand the driving range. I am fortunate to be blessed with so much good golf in my life. Having Oakbourne CC 10 minutes from my office is one of those blessings. Please let me know when you come back and we can play. cheers

Scott, I know this is crazy but it seems like we have met. I am a bit older than you but used to play alot in the Panhandle area.

Tiger, I don't think we've met, but I could be wrong.  I grew up in BR (played as a kid at Sherwood Forest CC) and went to LSU (not on the golf team).  Worked in the panhandle for a few years for the owners of Emerald Bay & Seascape, then for St. Joe.  I'm now in Atlanta.
