O/T- Can someone help with photobucket
« on: July 09, 2007, 05:45:31 PM »
I was wondering how to import an image for my profile photo. I can import standard photos for threads just fine, but I can't seem to bring in a photo for my personal profile. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? It must be a sizing issue?

David,
the image over <<<there has to be sized 65x65 pixels. Try opening and editing your photobucket image here:

http://www.gifworks.com/image_editor.html

The new ANIMATED one of mine came from www.meez.com (which is a hoot to use) and I had to then resize it in gifworks and save it back to photobucket.

Fairly easy for the tech-minded...

Martin,

gifworks indicates it only does .gif files. How do you do .jpg files?

Another Q for the technically minded.
Just before the recent upgrade/redesign of Photobucket it was offering a program caled Flock and the first time i used it was great, much faster to upload a whole bunch of photos.  Since then I can't get it to work.  What do I needto do, open Flock first?  Tried it and so far no deal, so any help gratefully recieved.

Thanks Martin. I can't seem to get that to work on the link you provided. Does anyone know how to customize the size on Photobucket itself? They give you some preset choices, but I'm thinking that this is what is causing the problem.

David,

You can customize pics on Photobucket to 5 different sizes, but none of them shrinks to 65x65 as required by GCA's avatar size.   You could do this in MS Paint (free with Windows PCs), if you have one.

Unless you are the last person on  earth so poorly equipped, MS Office contains picture manager (which I even have at work) that's quicker, easier and more precise.  IT is also a fool's version of photoshop to clean up those ugly dark photos so many of you like to post. :)

OK Bill, what's the secret with picture manager. I find the options in the menus to modify the pic, make it 65x64, and save it. When put in my profile, it still says avatar to big!

Nevermind, I got it to work. I have no idea what I changed to make it work this time over last, but it worked.
