Bob Jenkins: Your bag was shipped at the same time as the others - it was sent USPS and not Fedex because the cost was too high by Fedex but you should receive it soon.

Sun Mountain has an embroidery machine that does 6 bags at a time so there was an initial order of 48 bags that they completed.  I then received additional checks and placed the order but because of the holiday demand they will not be doing the embroidery on the next group until next week and they should be shipped by November 29 and received in the US within a few days - overseas can take longer.

So Craig Disher, Mike Benham, John Cullum, Tim Leahy, Phil Ganite, Mark Pearce, Noel Freeman, Dan Hermann, Steve Lang, Neil Regan, and other recent contacts - your orders should be shipped next week.

BTW - because of the 6 bag minimum I cannot see any more bags being ordered in the future.

Anybody else in the second group not receive their bag yet?
I am still waiting.
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

The second group of bags was being done this week and shipped this week from Montana.  Sorry for the delay but their embroidery department is busy this time of year and the machine does 6 items at a time so they wait for groups of six.  That is why we probably won't do this again for a long time.  Again, sorry for the delay but the bags should be in your hands next week.

Jerry, I've played twice with my bag and I love it.  Thanks again for doing this.

I carried mine twice last week in San Francisco and it is great, very light, well balanced with the double straps.  The only problem I'm having, and wonder if others are as well, is the X-shaped velcro cushion for the dividers coming loose.  Maybe 14 clubs doesn't work as well, although I think I only had 12 in my bag.  When I took out the velcro cushion, the plastic X is pretty sharp edged and I think would tear up shafts pretty quickly.

Any ideas?

I was told by Sun Mountain that 9 more bags shipped yesterday and the last 3 will be shipped out by Friday.

The bag is clearly meant for walking and weighs only 2 pounds so you have to avoid filling the pockets with as much garbage as I usually do.  The trick is if you are traveling you should pack up what you need but empty out the excess when you get to your destination.  I have also found that putting the putter in with the woods works well and you need to take a couple of seconds to look for the club you need and only pull out that club.  It ain't perfect, but after you've carried it for 18 holes without any strain it's well worth it.

I got mine in the first shipment (thanks again, Jerry!) and I concur with Jerry that it's not meant to hold a lot of stuff.  But heck, the whole idea is a lightweight carry bag, so it defeats the purpose to carry a lot of stuff anyway...

Bill - I too found those velcro protectors slipping off  - and as is the case with most things in life, the answer is duct tape.  Wrap some around and they become fixed.

YAHOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm on the board.....

I am deeply and truly honored.  Oh I know I'll likely do something to screw it up, but at least getting the application in is a huge step for me.

I've unwrapped an old Winn grip and used it on the Sun Mountain bag dividers to solve the problem.. nicer if you like  little contrast.. and want more protection for shafts..

Have I missed something --- I don't see any good photos of the bag?  At least us llamas can salivate a little with some GCA bag eye candy.

Great drive you hit there, Bill.  Not many have a pitch that short for their second shot.   :)

I was hoping nobody would notice.  :P  Thanks, eagle eye!

Proves once again that, like Hogan and Palmer and McBride, you don't want to pull your tee shot into that left hand rough.  That's where bogies are born on #18.

If I could putt I would have still made my par.  :-[

Just out of curiousity, I would like to hear from those who bought the bags if you're getting many questions as to what's GCA.Com is all about?

Thanks

I had someone approach me at a driving range the other day after he saw the bag and told me he regularly viewed the site and found it very interesting.  We are planning a home and away get together at our respective clubs.

The bag has worked well for me as I have been able to carry it for 18 holes on  a regular basis at my club and I ain't no spring chicken.

I like the bag a lot, and have had numerous people ask me about the website.  The bag is smaller than I had thought, but that is actually a plus as it is so light.

I'll post some pics after the Chambers event with the bags...

I haven't had any questions about the site, but I love the bag.  It encourages me to walk and has plenty of space to be my regular bag.

Thanks again,

Jeff

No questions yet.  The bag is excellent with two 'woods', a bit tight for three 'woods'.  But excellent and light.  Mine has crossed the Pacific twice, the Atlantic once and Asia once!  It has been carried many miles already.

The confusing occasion was at Rustic Canyon, where I was playing with other GCA'ers, one of who (Joe) also had the 'Kluger' bag.  There were a couple of times when I turned to leave a green and pick up the wrong bag.  I'm just glad Joe has different clubs and headcovers.  Boy am I glad the bags didn't come with matching GCA headcovers (woods, not irons or putters, Shivas ;)).
