I'm proud to have been part of Colorado Golf Club, even at the most minor of roles. All of the wonderful people I meet and could be involved with, as well as the opportunity to get a foot in the door, learn about golf design and maintenance, with no prior experience. Hopefully much more to be proud of in the future, but a great start.

I'm proud that I made the decision to get involved at Black Mesa based on the notion that I would rather try and fail than fail to try.  Also proud of following through on the commitments by Eddie Peck and myself to keep it fun and make it about the golf and to make sure it works for every one, patrons, principals, neighbors, workers, suppliers, everyone.

And you succeed beyond anybody's hopes and dreams...keep it up!

My daughter's deportment on the golf course.

Caught the last three holes of her team's match yesterday, and didn't guess, till she'd holed out on the last, that she'd botched holes 1 through 6 something terrible and was about to record her worst score in two years.

She's a better man than I am, Gunga Din!

I helped create and bottle and new type of home made Kummel. This has helped many people play better and keep refreshed. In fact it has almost certainly saved lives.

As a golfer, I scored an eagle at Illahe Hills CC in front of Erdman and Bayley.  ...

Yes, Troy, but are you proud of calling me "old timer" at said event?  ;D

I would note that Troy drives as wildly as I putt.  ;D

Thanks to everyone who has contributed thus far.

I'm going to keep bumping this until a few more architects and supers contribute - thanks very much to Ian, Forrest, Scott & Jeff, and Terry, Troy & Pat.

There's a couple of guys who won't post that should be extremely proud of this site.

For those of us that are uneducated, could you please tell me what "Kummel" tastes like?

In general I'd say the thing I'm most proud of in golf is the great work that it does in helping kids.

In my case it is my position on the board of the First Tee of Pittsburgh and in being the staff person in charge of our own Scholarship Fund.

OK George P, I'll bite...

Going to work as a greens keeper I invented the pull off or sippy top coffee cup lid.

Next I added zip off/pop top kind of can lids to the next generation of cans [think Campbells]

Later I invented adding heat to forms of Ketchup.

Next I did zip tops lids to cereal boxes, instead of having to fold the paper type boxes [fairly new].

...I'm working on factory made convertible top Pickups.......for greens keepers........ :)

Proud of.....
Working with others (PGA pros, GCSAA superintendents, course owners, et al) in growing the game of golf. Efforts have been two-fold: welcoming newcomers to the sport and also encouraging former players to dust off their clubs and return to the game.

Other meaningful assignments in golf......
For more than a decade, I've had the opportunity to create/coordinate award celebrations for exceptional individuals within the world of golf. Two tributes standout in my mind as most memorable. 1) When Mr. Jim Langley (former PGA Head Pro at CPC) was honored as Nor Cal PGA Golf Professional of the Year. 2) When Mr. Ken Venturi was recognized as an Honorary Member of the association. Both tributes went very well...but then again, who could miss with honorees like Jim and Ken.

Not at all Garland.  I was proud to have the opportunity to play a round of golf with you.

Jay, it's a clear liquid that to me tasted a bit like light-flavored licorice.  It also warms the very cockles of the heart!  ;D

I'm most proud of the fact that borders have not been closed to American golfers by countries that I've visited. . . yet.

Proud to...
- Not be a slave to the scorecard
- Not quit this great but frustrating game
- Seek walking courses
- Avoid neighborhoods with a so called course running through it
- Try and help save Sharp Park in some way before it's too late...
