I'd try down under, how is New zealand this time of year?

Doug
Where is everybody? Where is Tommy N? Where is John K? Where is Jay F? What has happened here? Has my absence caused this chaos? I'm sorry. All my rowdy friends have settled down ......... somewhere else!

Doug,
The weather in NZ is great today.  Plenty of spring growth.  Temperatures getting warmer, ideal golf conditions.

I would still like to be at Shinnecock.  I loved Muirfield and when Shinne was described as the Muirfield of the US, I knew that some day I would love to get there.  Recent threads only served to emphasise how great the course is.

Grayhawk Golf Club (Raptor Course) - Because that would mean I'd made the cut in a professional tournament.

MAC, I agree that Oitavos is a wonderful course, not all that well known. An unsual selection though - I would give it exalted second division status, rather than putting it in the premier league. HAve you played it and have fond memories, or do you aspire to play it?

Cypress is possibly THE single worst first tee in the world of golf to wish yourself upon.

The other 17 and 1/2 holes do kinda make up for it though! ;)

Machrihanish is the most sphincter-tighteningly first tee ever. I LOVE it!!! Here is properly true 'strategic' golf. Pick the line that you think YOU can make and hit it well. Heaven!!!
 ;D

FBD.

Oh and PS: Yes, I HAVE had to play my second shot from the BEACH!!! EEK! :o

Sure, but being on the first tee at Cypress Point means you are PLAYING CYPRESS POINT.  I could not think of anything better right now.

With the wonders of modern technology I am able to tell you that I am standing on it - Askernish Old.

Unfortunately due to the driving rain and gale force 9 wind I cannot stand up straight enough ( and I am six foot five and weigh 22 stone) to describe the view or take a photograph.

Och well there is always tomorrow.

Philip...

Oitavos Dunes...I've yet to play it, but I've read many write ups on it and I've thought for years it might be a hidden gem in the golfing world...but then it get ranked as one of the top 50 built in the last 50 and one of the Top 100 in the world and I know I need to get there.

So, this thread is a wish list.  I wish I could magically pop over there for a quick round and check it out.

Since I am a south Florida resident now and the weather here just turned from hot to fantastic, I'll say Seminole.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.
