Unfortunatly he doesn't travel.  Otherwise he could come down to St Andrews Beach which has pretty much the same problems that Augusta had before he got there (wide fairways, no trees, a couple of drive and pitch Par 4s).

Ask not what GolfClubAtlas can do for you; ask what you can do for GolfClubAtlas.

I am sure he wouldn't exactly be thrilled with the GCPL credit rating, David.

I want to see Fazio get stuck into TOC ASAP.  Maybe then the next championship will be confined to the host course.

Hell Bunker clearly needs to be moved to be relevant too, and a couple of those buildings alongside the 18th fairway are too far away from said patch of grass, so the tee, green and fairway need to be re-aligned and tightened.

Perhaps the gift shop should be between the 1st and 18th fairways at the 260 yard mark?

Shocking that Fazio has the power to overrule the wishes of the membership and leadership at ANGC.

Thank you, but no.

You really believe that, Sean???

I think they are getting exactly what they want...

AFAIK, the mambership has no say in what happens at Augusta.

It is and always has been a dictatorship.

I have been reading Roberts' book on the history of the course and tournament, and he recounts Bobby Jones' early attempt to hold a meeting of the members.

Grantland Rice stood up and said that of the several clubshe'd belonged to that had tried to hold meetings, the failure rate was 100 percent. So he moved that ANGC be a monarchy and called for the meeting to end.

Which it did.

Now, the "leadership" may well be getting what they want.

Fazio work on Kingsley......I don't think so!
It would be interesting to see what changes he would do.
Don't know where he would put the waterfall.

Ralph;  I have been a critic and I hope to post on Augusta soon having just returned from the tournament but lets try to be fair and somewhat accurate.  Fazio is not Ted Robinson.  Give some examples of where Tom Fazio has built artificial waterfalls.

Michael,

My tongue was firmly planted in cheek.

I think that the golf course played Sunday exactly how they wanted it to.  If they had 4 days of that, their view is that it would have been perfect TOURNAMENT conditions.
