Depends on which guy you get.  I do about 5 trips outside Australia a year and can guarantee I'll get someone who takes their job VERY seriously at least once.  Most times they are pretty relaxed but it's not worth the hassle if you don't declare the shoes on the form and get someone having a bad day.
