Andy:

Keep this mind / re: Paa-Ko Ridge. The collective par-3's are all in the same category -- fairly long with little real diversity. That's not to say they are not fine holes -- I am a big fan of the par-3 8th -- truly a superb land location and a hole that yields few pars.

Look at the four par-3 holes at Black Mesa and the range and diversity of the holes is far better IMHO -- in fact, the long par-3 8th is one of the better long holes I have played -- superb greensite that funnels all types of shots (save for the right execution) to all areas except the right place.

Astavrides:

Digest had the Norman course at 7th and the TF layout as 8th for all of Colorado. How the TF design event merits ANY attention escapes me. The Norman layout at Red Sky Ranch is the best puiblic available course in all the state I have played and deserves a higher overall ranking than Digest has given it.

A correction to what you mentioned -- Golfweek lists the TF layout at Red Sky Ranch as #1 among all public courses in The Centennial State. That is a joke as I indicated above with what the Digest ratings indicated. The Norman course is listed #3 by Golfweek and frankly I would have the course in the #1 slot.

I see Hunter's Oak made the list for Maryland.

Brian -

I will be back to see Greywalls this summer and hopefully we can play this time. It should be around the late part of July.

As for Kingsley, I loved the course, but I was playing with a guy yesterday that really didn't like it. He said there were too many blind shots etc... He loved Arcadia and Crystal Downs though. In my opinion, he is of the ilk that if he doesn't play well then the course stinks. I do not put too much credence in his opinion, but I bring this up because I am sure he is not alone in his close mindedness.
