Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank, California...
BCrosby:
Peter -
You mean Shakespeare was about issues bigger than golf? Are you trying to tell me that "Much Ado About Nothing" is NOT about Torrey Pines?
Do you expect me to believe that "All's Well that Ends Well" is about something other than a great recovery shot? Or that "Measure for Measure" is more than Willie's golf design philosophy?
Man, you need to go back and reread the classics. You are really missing the boat. ;)

David -
Thanks for the kind offer. I have that RSF history too.
Do you know of anything that shows Behr's original Lakeside that is not hanging in a dark hallway at a Honey Baked Ham joint?

I haven't seen the picture to which M. Robin refers. But if you look in the banquet room at Lakeside there is one that sounds identical. An artist rendition from the 20's with the holes crossing the Los Angeles River.
Jim Bearden:
David Stam that's good to know regardless I still love that course. The routing is funky to me that's the charm.
Peter Pallotta:
Bob - I stand corrected, and I'm embarrassed. Thanks for straightening me out. My old professors must've given me the bum steer. If I ever get back to university, there's a post-grad paper pending called "Shakespeare, Behr and the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines - A Study in What Was, What Is, and What Might've Been."
Actually, that might have legs!
Peter
