Bill,

Here are a couple from my home course, White Manor outside of Philadelphia.

The first picture is of the 330 yard Par 4 15th, the center bunker is about 100 yards from the green.

The second set of photos is of the 4th hole, which is medium length par 4 that features a Principals Nose bunker complex of 4 or 5 bunkers.

The 1st picture is from the tee, the 2nd picture is from the front of the front of the 1st bunker, the 3rd picture is standing atop the center of the complex and the 4th picture is looking back on the hole form the green.

Old White Course has one at the Greenbriar if anyone can post that
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

There is an excellent Principal's Nose bunker complex on the short par 4 16th hole at Boston Golf Club.

, I think.  That second bracketed thing is supposed to represent bracket-forward slash-bracket.

While playing Tobacco Road, Brian Gracely pointed out that the center-line bunker at the 15th is perhaps the world's longest principal's nose bunker.

A modern interpretation, but a principal's snoz no less:

4th at Woking.  You can just see the second nostril beyond this first one.  You have to drive between this and the OOB railway on the right.

I would have thought that after all of this time spent on this website, I would have known better. But it seems that we can count any center bunker as a Principal's nose, is that true? If not, what are the necessary qualities?

I should have thought nostrils and hairs and a handkerchief for tidying up rather than a rake.  I suppose that nowadays on public access courses they'd also have studs or rings.....Ugh!

Martin, Let's meet on neutral territory one of these days.  What about Brampton?  It's more or less on Hadrian's Wall.

Glen Ridge has a wonderful example of the Principal's Nose on our 18th hole.  I will try to get a picture to post.
