Reverse Old Course 4th

At a guess it will be around 390-400yds


From the tee.  

The drive to the left seen from the ridge in front of the tee.

From the middle right just in front of cottage.  Going further right than this brings Sutherland into play and lengthens the hole considerably.

From Sutherland bunker looking back towards the green.  This bunker complicates the decision of whether to go left or right off the tee.

This is Cottage and reachable for the bigger hitters from the tee.

From Cottage to the green.  If this were the usuual routing then I'm sure this light rough would be fairway.  I expect it will still be there for us.

Even more so considering there wasn't any rain in St Andrews the night before.  You can judge the temperature by the ice formed on the surface  :)

Where is the 5th Sean?  I am worried that you have been frozen to the ground taking these wonderful pictures.  I didn't like that frozen hazard in the last set.

James, the long range forecast is for highs of 9* C.  9x1.8 =16 + 32 = 48* F.  Oh my.  :o  Long johns added to the packing list, it could get ugly if the wind's blowing.

It was 37 on Saturday - that is about 98F.  And it will be mid 30's this week (about 90).

I can deal with 9C (we have that in winter where I play) - it will be the quick transition from 35 to 9. And the prospect of wind and rain as well.  I expect you have the same problem.  I'm going to try and get a pair of those rain gloves before I get to Scotland.

I think I'll go and sit in front of the fridge with the door open for an hour a day, or perhaps visit the local liquor store with a walk-in cool room.  Just to help with getting used to the weather.

Don't forget to put a big fan in the freezer blowing 40 mph wind at you with sleet and ice in it.   ;D

It was perfect in Pensacola today - 75* F with gentle zephyrs.  8)
