I don't want to steal my friend Jon Spauldings thunder, but he turned me on to this site of the photographer, Julian Graham. If any of you haven't seen this, you ought to. It has some wonderful old b&w photo's. Not only doesn it have some photo's of players, such as Tommy Armour, Francis Ouimet, Nelson, etc, it has some great photo's of Pasatimepo, Pebble, CPC, MPCC and Del Monte. It also has photo's of Chandler Egan, Jack Neville, Dr. Alister Mackenzie and Robert Hunter. And the best part, they are all available for purchase. Here's the link.

For stealing all my thunder....I am forced to mail you framed prints of all 18 holes at Shorecliffs......ahhh, sweet revenge!

Just imagine, every wall in your wife's home lined with fine artwork...

The picture of Dr. Mackenzie and group teeing off on the 13th at Cypress Point Club is something I've never seen before. What an untamed marvel that course was !  Recent pictures show a very different hole indeed. Can I assume that it was a maintenance nightmare as originally designed? How long did it last in its original form? I know I'm probably asking old hat questions of this group. Yes, I'll go snag a copy of Mr. Shackelford's book immediately.............

The photo of the 13th is magic. Below is a photo from about the same angle with the tee in the photo shown below. I can only presume that maintenance was an issue the length of the hole; either that or the just allowed the expanse to grow in over time. Maybe someone knows. There has been quite the restoration over the last few years at the greensite.
