Here you go lads, if you have 24 minutes to watch the future in the video on the bottom of the page, here is everything you need to know about Dubailand.  This Sheikiman,  Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, makes Walt Disney look like a low expectation, underachieving dolt...    

Tiger's golf project seems to be a small part of the overall master plan to transform the desert into a be all and end all destination escape to fantasyland.  

I wonder if the average "global family" will be able to fit this ecomomy vacation destination in on their pilgrimage to bankruptcyland due to outrageous energy prices that support all this?  

It is just a short flight over armageddon, and right next to our good friends in Tehran, bring the kids...  

But, I suppose this is just their way of saying 'thanks for the business and continue using our fine petroleum products'.

I think framing is important....just on a lot  bigger scale than "three mounds behind the green" framing. Think mountains, oceans, vistas....all framing wonderfully placed greens....

I am not sure I am understanding your complaints.

They have something we don't (oil).

They are a cartel and they dictate the prices (surprise?).

They spend their money the way they want (as long as they spend on Dubailand and not terrorism, I'm cool).

It's called business.

Voytek, you asked what it looks like above.  I posted a link to a 24 minute video, and my comments.  

"You say they have something we don't"... Well, not exactly, we do.

"They spend their money the way they want (as long as they spend on Dubailand and not terrorism, I'm cool)".  ...do they pay off for not being attacked by the extremist Islamic loonies?  Some journalism suggest that.

"It's called business".  Some might say it is unwise dependency.  

Hey, maybe al Maktoum is the nicest guy since Walt Disney.  But, if he is such a great guy, why don't he do something really cool with all the cash and bring the greatest gift of all to his people, a democratically constituted republic with fair competition in the market place?

I've always thought that "rhyming" eye with symmetry (even in the 18th century the pronunciation was anything but "symmetric"...) was a classic use of irony.

All golf course architecture is ironic, as the more one "architects" the more one is left with a tour de force rather than a golf course.

Now don't get me started on "minimalism!"
