More than happy to carry them in luggage when I head to Melbourne and Sydney next month if any Australian contributors would like to use me as a free middle man. Let me know by the 13th.

Thanks for the responses & orders - we're getting up to a stage where the contribution will merit the bandwidth we're taking up here on this thread. :) Thanks also to the people who have added on additional contributions. Thanks especially to those who called - it was a pleasure to actually speak to members of the DG - to quote BillV, "I've never met a stiff who was into architecture."

As far as the comment on the design from Sir J of the B, it brings to the forefront the age old question of all marketers: how do we get the name out while still retaining the class image of the site? I think we found a good happy medium - anyone unhappy with their tee can return it no questions asked, but they won't get their contribution back, only my share covering the expenses. ;)

P.S. to Rich -

Sorry, your idea was a charming one, but we've been working on these tees since before you came on board. Once again, you have lost out to me!  ;D Looking forward to teeing it up someday across the pond with you - George

Jaka B:

Of course understated elegance is always preferable.  However when I read the thread I couldn't call George fast enough to order mine.

Will I wear it?  Of course probably when I'm working out.

This is a great idea to help the site and I think I may order another.

Cheers,
Dave

Just a quick update, as there have been a few inquiries. Work has been brutal the last couple weeks, haven't had a chance to get to the post office to mail the tees or even the bank to deposit the checks, but we're having electrical work done today, so it should be light & most if not all of the tees should go out today & tomorrow.

Thanks again to everyone for their support. Let me know what you think.

Count me in for an XL, perhaps we could go to the next step in the future and get a golf shirt made so we can proudly display our enthusiasm for the site while on the links.

Thanks for the kind words - I promise not to drag Bill S. into any more discussions.  :)

Also, I hope no one else wants an XXL - I think they are all gone or spoken for.

Got a few orders from names I didn't really recognize from posting - hope you decide to share some thoughts with everyone.

Got mine today...looks great!

BTW...my wife is a sociology professor, and wants to use the shirt in one of her classes when she discusses ego-centrism (spelling?) due to the large size of North America compared to the other continents.  What can I say?

Evan -

That was most definitely intentional on my part. All of the various designs that I submitted to Ran utilized the theme of emphasizing the nations or continents where golf has a greater history & perhaps a greater hold. I therefore chose to emphasize GB&I, US & Canada, Australia & New Zealand & Japan. I would use the term golf-centric rather than egocentric - after all, I didn't even put in Pittsburgh.

Interestingly, the original design was rejected as too artsy for you guys  :) & it was Ran's suggestion to make the map appear more classic in nature. At one point in on eof the various renditions, I had some classic courses noted rather than general areas, but we didn't want to leave anyone out so I made the change to the more general geographic terms. Too bad, I know how to spell Cypress... ;D

George,
The package arrived today. They look even better in person. The map is probably correct when golfing population is taken into account.
