It appears that Al Gore inventor of The Internet has joined the Discussion Group, and has brought PayPal with him.  :D

Since when did Al Gore invent the Web?

When Al Gore was in the Senate of the US he voted the funding of the research at DARPA that lead to the internet. On at least one ocaision, he misspoke about it, and everyone has been kidding/criticizing him about it ever since.

Sometime since the last Ice Age.

Here is a site that has a pretty good list of the Al Gore claims and mis-statments over the years.  Not just limited to inventing the internet

Al was at his best when Tipper would make a dance with her a worthwhile affair. She was lovely and had great tips.

Mike,
I've only contributed to this site once before and I don't know how many times my good intentions of doing so again were thwarted by forgetfulness and/or laziness.

This second time was easy.  ;)

Kalen, there's an old saying: "Fool me once, shame on—shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again". Remember, you shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internets, especially when you are using the Google.

Ahh yes, excerpts of the good old bush quote...

Its true, you can't believe everything you read on the internet.  But in this case links and sources were provided.  Did you try taking a look at any of them to see if they were actually real?  I did and sure enough its as he said it.

I'm no Bush fan, and I didn't vote for him, but the bigger picture is that as much as Bush takes a bashing in the media for jumbling his words, Gore has said his fair share of whoppers to boot!!

Let's not defend the indefensible (Bush) or bash the well-meaning (Gore).  Let's talk about golf and golf course architecture.

I think history has already shown that the 2000 election was not about electing the right man for the job, but the man who would screw things up the least. As much as I don't like what Bush has done in office, Gore would have been ten times worse.

Next time, think green and vote Nadar   ;D
