John,
Thanks for the info. I look forward to getting back there some day to see both courses.
I was told they are also working on the Valley course which is now being called the Bendelow course.  The fairways will be unchanged but the tees and green complexes are being redone.

The Bendelow course is completed...I got the royal tour.  It is a nine hole course with flashy ass bunkers that no one will ever know are or are not Bendelow influenced.  But it is a Bendelow routing through and through.

I played the Ross course yesterday and thought it was outstanding. Lot's of room off the tee but with plenty to think about, outstanding green complexes, tough bunkers, nice routing, interesting topography but otherwise just so-so ;). The overall look is pretty unusual as you'd expect about 10X the trees -- sort of looks like old photos of Augusta.

The only other Ross I've played was Pine Needles and that was several years ago so any comparison would be tough but the green complexes seemed similar though more extreme at French Lick.

Not sure if this video has been brought up on any of the other threads but it goes through the history and restoration of the course (along with the cart paths).

OT- The resort itself is still having some opening issues but it's pretty amazing -- think of a remodeled Shining and a very nice casino as well. Once all 3 courses are open it will be on the short list for a golf getaway, 36 holes a day on a Ross or Dye and $2/$4 No-limit at night. Not sure where else you can do that.
