Redhill and Reigate (1887) Charming old course, short (5,200 yards), but fun.
http://www.redhillandreigategolfclub.co.uk/RH1 6LB
Reigate Heath (1895) Famous old 9-hole course with 18 tees. The views are superb and the course is a little gem.

Reigate Hill (1995 David Williams) Another prestigious contract for Williams, in a handsome spot.

Richmond (The) (1891 Tom Dunn) You simply have to visit the website to read the history of the place and see the pictures of the remarkable clubhouse. I played here a few years ago and found the course itself rather cramped.

Richmond Park (1923 Hawtree) Two very popular public courses in a fine setting in Richmond Park. They remain very good value, and there are annual season passes for locals.

Roehampton (1901) Exclusive sports club with tennis, squash, croquet, swimming and a gym as well as a well-reputed 6,000-yard course. I do not know who designed the course.

Roker Park (1993 Alan Helling) 9-hole, 3,000-yard course which gets good reviews from visitors on a number of websites.
http://www.tru-golf.co.uk/GU3 3PB
RAC Club (1913 Fowler/Myddleton) Spacious courses in charming rolling country. Downland, rather than heath, if I remember correctly.

Royal Mid-Surrey (1892 JH Taylor) Famous for its early humps and mounds, but its plentiful bunkers are more likely to collect the ball during the round. It is very flat, yet some of the greens are cunningly built up. The shorter Inner Course is great fun.

Royal Wimbledon (1865 Dunn/Park/Colt) Excellent website has very detailed history, including much about architecture.
http://www.rwgc.co.uk/SW19 4UW
Rusper (1992 AW Blunden) Very reasonable green fees, pretty scenery.
http://www.ruspergolfclub.co.uk/RH5 5BX
Selsdon Park Hotel (1929 JH Taylor) Good value green fees even for non-residents. There are some lovely holes, and the rolling land makes for much fun. I am not sure JH Taylor would recognise the mowing patterns used when Google Earth made their image of it!

Tandridge (1925 Colt) Said by some to be too narrow through the trees, but it is a very handsome place, nonetheless, and its nature conservancy work is praiseworthy.
http://www.tandridgegolfclub.com/RH8 9NQ
Thames Ditton and Esher (1892) Old 9-hole club not in high resolution on Google Earth.
KT10 9AL

http://www.whgc.co.uk/KT20 7TP
Wentworth (1924 Colt, Jacobs/Player) Two famous Colt courses and the more modern Edinburgh course by Gary Player and John Jacobs. Very little heathland character left on the West course.
http://www.wentworthclub.com/GU25 4LS
West Byfleet (1906 CS Butchart) Just over the railway from New Zealand, a very pleasant course, always in good condition as it is laid out on sand.

http://www.windleshamgolf.com/GU19 5HY
Wisley (The) (1991 Trent Jones Jnr) A spot of genuine American golf just round the corner from the Royal Horticultural Societys headquarters.
http://www.thewisley.com/GU23 6QU

http://www.woldingham-golfclub.co.uk/CR3 7HA

http://www.woodcotepgc.com/CR5 2QQ
Worplesdon (1908 Abercromby) The final part of the 3 Ws, the only downside being a double crossing of a busy main road. Some wonderful holes and several mischievous greens.
