My pleasure.

How about playing Painswick as an awesome and difficult 14 holes?

Join the 1st and 2nd together but with the tee a bit further forward so that the 1st pit can be carried with a good hit.  A great par 5!

Join 3 and 4 together, another great par 5.   The 4th green is much better than the 3rd.

5-11 as now.

Join 12 and 13 together.  I know you like the 12th and didn't play the 13th (no balls!).  But the 13th green is really quite good with its sideways tier.  Flirt with the OB with the 2nd shot.

14-16 as now.

Drop the 18th.

In case you thought that picture of the "2nd shot to the 9th" was from my drive, be assured that I misposted that one.  It wsa the "greenend" of 9, showing the 10th tee io the background.  The real picture of the 2nd shot to the 9th is below.  I did airmail the green with my 4-iron, howver.......

The 14 hole Paisnwick would be a GREAT course!  I'd like to keep a few of the remaining greens,. however, just for fun.......

Who would even need bunkers with terrain like that?

Were the greens contours as bold as the surrounding terrain?

The greens are relatively gentle, but small--some VERY small.  The green surrounds are generally wild, giving some intersting chipping/pitching opportunities.  When I played the greens were very true but fairly slow (7-8 stimpmeter?).  I'm not sure if anybody would finish the course, however, if it ever got really firm and fast!

Does your 14 hole course eliminate the 17th?  Even though out of character, and possibly a late addition to the scene, I really like that hole, particularly the green with the false front and the front to back spine through the middle.
