Please send me some of that water that you're drinking out there.  I sometimes need to go off into another dimension in time and space .  ;)

Tiger

Pay close attention to the Zookster - he's got his act together and the Illini football team is headed back to the top.

Juice Williams, our freshman quarterback is the real deal and today they announced that Arrelious Benn, the top wide receiver recruit in all the land, is coming to Illinois!  Apparently, this has driven the Notre Dame faithful absolutely bonkers!

Juice may some day join the great names of Grange and Butkus.

Go Illini!

And, if the 2014 Open is played at Beverly, perhaps Tiger can place his name next to the greats who have won at Beverly - Palmer, Nicklaus, Ouimet and Evans!

Paul, don't forget the recruiting steal of the year (football that is - we don't want to get into Scumson at IU) which occured today.

Illinois got the #1 WR in the country over Florida State, Notre Dame and Maryland.

Between now and 2013 (Merion), will the US Open be contested on a golf course of under 7200 yards?

Is Erin Hills really good enough to become the most recently-built US OPEN venue by 35-40 years?  If so, wowie zowie.

I consider Torrey Pines a newly built golf course and I think Erin Hills is better.

Edit - disclaimer- I have walked Torrey Pines in person but not played.

Zook can recruit, but his teams play with zero discipline and he is consistently outcoached every week.  Illinois FB isn't going anywhere under him.  But there's always BB season.

Zook was outcoached against tOSU last weekend?

I will say, he did lose at least one game for us this year.

We'll see, anything is better than what he have had for the last four years.

If we could only get Zooks recruiting and Weber's coaching!

Beverly's course could hold its own, just fine, thank you.

The reality is that the property is not large enough to host this size of an event.

But it does have a great history......

 ;)

Paul:
Isn't Beverly hosting the USGA Senior Amateur in 2008 or 2009?

Paul,

Go for it.

There is plenty of room next door in the Forest Preserve for parking, a driving range ala Hoylake and a tent village.  The premium tents could use the current range along the 18th hole.  Close 87th and Western Ave. and crowd flow should be ok.    With the alderman's "Juice" maybe you will be able to "Zook" it after all. ;)
