And how do you answer the writer's question:

"To me, there is something almost unnatural about courses where everything fits perfectly. Nature is random and courses should reflect this randomness. My two favorite architects are getting dangerously close to perfecting their art to the point where this randomness is being reduced to an uncomfortably low level.

"Indeed, is architecture at the highest level today becoming too perfect/too well thought out? I don't know and its all very brainy stuff, which gives me a terrible headache."

I'll guess TEPaul.

My answer is, "perfect" means different things to different people. If something meets my definition of perfect, then I think it's...perfect. I don't need a flaw or a glitch or a blemish. then again, I've never played a perfect course.

Okay, I just read the updated Royal County Down thread. But the second part of my answer still stands.

As for the first part, I'll bet TEPaul wouldn't disavow the sentiment.

Ran wrote it in his post about RCD. Notice, the original post topic was "Who said (sic) it?" Which the word police corrected after my reponse.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Unfortunately, I assume Ran was referring to Tom D and C&C, who's couses I have not played. A little flash flood in Utah washed out my plans to start down that path this month. I would like to see comments about whether these archies are getting a little too skilled myself.
