My lord, you fellows can't be serious with those names.

Thankfully we all have day jobs.  

It's a shame that Tom probably won't want to compete name-wise with Ballyneal, because "Ballyshear" would be quite appropriate, named after MacDonald's home at NGLA.

If that won't do, then I'd simply suggest it be called 'Kirkwood".   Without Mr. Kirkwood's influence on young Charlie, it's unlikely we'd have his legacy to emulate.

The proposed name doesn't bother me.  I'm sure it could be improved upon, but I don't have any suggestions as of now.  I love the concept.  As someone who will probably never play the National Golf Links of America, it'll be great to have the chance to play that sort of course in one of my favorite places.  And I'm confident that Doak/Urbina will deliver, again.

Following my longstanding theory that you name it after what you destroyed in order to build it (i.e. "Eagle Creek," "Buffalo Run."), Keiser could just name it "Bandon Gorse."

I like Old MacDonald.  It is playful and affectionate, reminiscent to so many.  An American classic, with the litany of farm characters replaced by golf holes.  It stands on its own, without the express connection to Bandon Dunes in its title.

In this day and age of individualism, I also like the team concept, a diverse array of people, drawing upon the lessons of the past to build something better for the future.  Would that we apply such an approach to other areas of our world.

Nobody likes when architects team with pros and now everybody loves the golf writer team concept...Why didn't Darwin ever get an architecture gig...I hope this fad ends soon.

I'm out here in Bandon and played the 9 hole short / practice course with a member of the staff.
He indicated that after Old MacDonald, there is thought for a 5th and final course. If they were to ever do so, they might look to consolidate the sheep ranch land into a 5th course.

I think keeping "Bandon" in the name better associates the project with the rest of the resort than "Old Macdonald", while still providing a sense of its inspiration.
