Going to Gleneagles tomorrow
« on: August 24, 2013, 05:52:32 PM »
So I'm planning a wee visit to my favourite inland golf destination tomorrow to watch the closing round of the Johnnie Walker. As possibly the only GCA representative on site, should I:
A) Seek out the management and point out the folly of choosing an American to design a new course at one of our most iconic golf locations?
B) Wear my kilt, stand at the 18th green and chuckle loudly at the wholly inappropriate design and detailing?
C) Take a picnic, watch some golf and enjoy my day in the beautiful Scottish Highlands?
Choices, choices, choices...

Washed the people coal-black from the hole in the ground.

Damn,
Don't you just hate it when someone with the voice of reason talks you down off the ledge...?
Hey J, hope you and yours are all very well.

Martin -

The crowds at Gleneagles looked very sparse today on TV.

I think this is a good place to point out that another member of this forum will be going to Gleneagles, next week.

Apart from the photo and the incorrect age, I have to say, he's pretty chuffed to be going. ;D

Martin How was it?
Let's make GCA grate again!

Reminded once again of why I love Gleneagles so much. Centenary course still looks like it should be in Florida though.

And after the first days play he got his name in the paper!

Got to love playing against a guy who

“Will has holed four putts in the last six holes from over 12 feet. His putting is quite unbelievable for someone who genuinely plays off a 16 handicap. It is quite extraordinary.”

If you've never done it, fly a hawk at the Falconry School. One of coolest things you will ever do.
First time he comes flying back to your arm you'll have some kinda rush. And you wont want the experience to end.
