A friend will be playing there soon. It opened in 1968. Who is the architect?  Any other info?

Steve,
Edgar Senne designed it, Stephen Kay redesigned it.

That's all I know

edit: Senne was also the VP of Sales for Electrolux

Steve,

I have never played it, but my business partner lives nearby and played it once or twice and liked it, but he is not a GCA kind of guy.

Steve:

There's this search engine called "google"   ;)

From golflink.com:

"The 18-hole "Nissequogue" course at the Nissequogue Golf Club facility in St James, New York features 6,531 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72.  The course rating is 73 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Blue grass.  Designed by Edgar Senne/(R)Stephen Kay, ASGCA/Doug Smith, the Nissequogue golf course opened in 1968. Joe Carraher manages the course as the General Manager"

Not a bad track. Island green on the second hole. The third is a toughish uphill par-4 across a sizeable wetalnd. Tom Doak likes the 18th green a lot I believe. Fairly non-descript otherwise. It has been renovated in the past few years.

I've driven into the club but have not played it.  Majestic clubhouse on the water, a nice 3 par on the Sound, but not sure if the course has any GCA merit as I've not played it.

It's tight and undulated with a lot of crowned fairways leading to bounces down side slopes into the woods, so I've been told.

Jason

As an experienced "Googler" I tried to find an article or review on the course. Having found nothing in detail, including the reference you cited giving barebones info, I tried posting here, as many do, for personal info. I even found the club's website, for members only, but showing a pic of their clubhouse:
