One can also play safe anywhere in the big left portion of the fairway
–- a hint: the green is far more receptive the
 closer one hits their tee shot to the left fairway bunkers.

I like this feature a lot, both on this hole and elsewhere

Andrew and Jeff,
   As I remember it the Bottle at NGLA has the right fairway sitting down in a hollow/depression which makes the approach more blind, but not impossible. Shivas hit it over on the left the day we played and I remember wishing I was over there. So there is definitely a reason to try to get left.
"Perimeter-weighted fairways", The best euphemism for containment mounding I've ever heard.
