Looking for any info about Redding Country Club in CT.
Rees Jones is the Architect
tons of water and beautiful trees with mountain views.

I would love to hear about the conditions from someone who's played it recently.

Thanks

Lindsey

Lindsey, just responded, not much help though. I have some questions for you regarding Fescue and Clay soil that we'll need to discuss at the General sometime.

Just got back from PSU this morning to look at the White Course. Things are very optimistic and it's FIRM and getting FAST.

Redding is advertising for a superintnedent. Coincidence?

I looked into membership there as I'm moving up that way.  I didn't play since the initiation is out O' range for me.  I'll do a drive by this week while I'm in the area and give a report from the road.

Cheers,

D

I usually play there once a year, but this is the first year in awhile that I haven't.  I did hear that they did have a huge problem with the greens this year, but I don't know the details.  Obviously, that makes sense if there's a superintendent search happening.
The course is normally in immaculate shape, so this year's conditions seem out of the ordinary.  Extremely hilly with lots of elevated tees and greens.  I can only think of 2 relatively flat holes and one of them is a par 3.  By my count, 11 dogleg holes with lots of sidehill lies.  I believe Edward Ryder was the original architect of 9 holes, with Rees Jones adding 9 and Al Zikorus doing some later work.
I'll try to find out more about the conditions this year and post again later.
p.s. FYI  Not much too see from the road except the flattish 9th hole and a back view of the cool little drop shot par 3 8th.
Even from the parking lot/clubhouse area, you can't see much.
Most of the course is set over a ridgeline behind the clubhouse.
