#18--perhaps a recently-resigned one might be a bit homesick!

#19

#20

#21

#22

#23

#24

#25

...and this one, to close, just because I love the setting, the light, the time of day and everything about this club...

#21 I know...surprising a few natives haven't gotten it yet.  It bears direct connection to some of today's news.

John:

You need to criticize less and be nice more.  I don't recognize them.  But nor do I read every thread on here.

JK:

My boss doesn't play golf.

But if you mean one of the founders of Yahoo!... well he is a member at Stanford... and that ain't Stanford that's for sure! Outside of that, I am sadly clueless as to his other affiliations.  John Krystynak knows way more than I do.

You know, until now, I had never even thought of the possibility that one reason I like the bonus club so much is that the architecture of the buildings reminds me of The Farm---hhmmm, repressed-memory, subliminal architecture;  definitely a GCA-related topic if there ever was one...

Dave--

No, although I certainly could have!  I actually drove from Lake Mills and back in the same day to play #14 several years ago.  Later, on the same trip, I drove out to #17 from the city in the hideous traffic.  As you well know, the phenomenon of the "reverse commute" can be vicious when getting to either of these, depending on the time of day..

The massive scale of #17 was a surprise, as were the multitude of other recreational opportunities on the property.

#18 is Lake Merced.  I don't like that clubhouse at all.

#15 -- I swear that must be Pine Hills in Plymouth.

I love the course much more than some, but I think Ansel Adams would have a hard time taking a classic photo of LM's clubhouse!

#15--Pine Hills??? Might as well stab me in the heart!  Swing and a miss...Big clue on the pavement in the second close-up photo...

AHA!

So #15 becomes especially relevant in about a month?

BTW, are we supposed to blurt out answers, or be coy like this?

#14 Plainfield?  If not, then this clubhouse shares a hell of a lot in common.

#16 Kittanset, #18 Lake Merced
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

My lack of answers to the pictures reminds me of the episode of Cheers where Cliff gets on the game show Jeapordy and is totally kicking butt and bets the farm on Final Jeopardy.  The "answer" had something to do with what 3 famous people had in common (or something like that).  Cliff had no clue to the real answer but wrote down "Who are 3 people who have never been in my kitchen?"

My "question" to the 20 clubhouse answers is
"What are 20 or so clubhouses in which I have never entered?"
 ;)

Cheers,
Brad

Edit:  Upon further review, my Final Jeopardy answer is incorrect.  I thought I recognized #10.  Especially the awesome veranda ;)

...OK, here's where we stand with these...

#13--of course, the "other" side of NGLA

#14--already had a picture of this one put up by someone else, this is from the "other/good" side of the clubhouse, for Shivas' benefit...

#15--my home course, the holiday decorations should give it away..

#16--Kittansett

#17--A little-discussed Ross in Chicago, Exmoor CC, which I believe Ron Prichard has done some work with...The facilities here were phenomenal, and the interiors on the clubhouse were quite grand..

#18--Indeed, Lake Merced--in case Mike Golden's lurking around...

#19--this one is probably little-seen yet; here is a shot of the controversial Biarritz-green on the par-5 10th...

Yes, it is as crowned as it looks, and as narrow...

#20--Baltimore CC, again a near-perfect porch for just hanging out...

#21--the "unique" Philadelphia CC clubhouse from the 10th fairway..

#22--Little discussed Ross-Silva course, but a site of a Cheney hunting expedition that ended successfully!  This is their old tower..

#23--Home of the structure below...

#24--May not look different from the original shot, but "Look!  In the sky!  It's a bird!  It's a...."

#25--It might be considered one of RTJ's best; I understand that it is currently under work?  Maybe John Kav. knows more...

#26--Yes, it is Olympia Fields CC
