Tiger Woods won his fifth straight tournament on Monday, but Garcia is hoping he'll cool off for the Sept. 22-24 matches.

"Fortunately for us he doesn't have a great Ryder Cup record," Garcia said. "So I'm looking forward to hopefully going out there and meeting him two or three times."


Did Sergio really just pick on Tiger's Ryder Cup record, and then say that he *wants* to play him two or three times?

I think my ryder cup highlight of the day, considering the 5-3 non-surprising score after today, was looking at the "wife and girlfriend" pics of the ryder cup guys on si.com.  Highlights include Greg Norman's daughter on the arm of Sergio, Paddy and Paul Casey with stunning blondes, Elin, and the pic of Woosie and Lehman's wives needs to be seen to be believed, talk about an odd couple...are we sure that isn't Melissa L's male stunt double?  Ouch...

Sergio and Monty are basically a 2 man wrecking crew in the Ryder Cup.  They are a big reason for Europe dominating in recent years (31-12-8 combined for their careers I believe).  Sergio was up to his old tricks, and while Monty wasn't a winner he did hole a big one on 18 in the afternoon matches.  It's kind of like a partner really helps Sergio overcome his insecurities about his game (read: short game).

The Tiger/Furyk and Mickleson/DiMarco teams going 1-2-1 was key.  The US team can't win with those 2 groups being net losers.

Initial thoughts

1.Luke Donald has done quite well for himelf.  

2.  What the HECK has happened to Melissa L.,  is this just a bad pic or has she really taken a turn for the worse!  I remember seeing her at the US OPEN in '98 and it looks like 2 entirely different people.

3.  If Garcia ends up marrying in to the Norman family, that would be quite a "choked" up affair.
