I thought Broadmoor was a fantastic golf course with some of the best people that I have ever met for the first time. 30th might be a little high, 100th is way too low. It is a really hard, but good question. Do to the lack of shape, I wonder if Granville golf course might not be right around 100 for DR. Miami Valley Golf Club, now that it is lush and green has probably fallen to that are as well.

Glenn,

I have respect for people who respect Ted Sturges and he is on a campaign to include Indy Broadmoor in the top 100 classic courses...If not top 50.  That would easily put the course in the top 20 Ross courses ever built...I thought 30 was as low as I dare go..

There is the nine hole Carter Country Club in Hanover New Hampshire. It ranks number 234 on my list of Ross courses that I have played. It does offer to the depressed golfer the ability to stand in the fairway on about six holes and get killed in five different directions.

The world of Ross is filled with a plethora of 5-5.5 on the Doak scale. Many of the restored courses have risen above that. Some of the allegedly restored courses fall well below that. For the most part they are playable and interesting with the exception of those that have been rerouted.

Some of his courses were well above 5.5 before restoration or any other work and remain there today.

obviously 6.5

I mean where would it end up on the hot 100?

BTW, excellent thread Barbar, I've got the Balsams Panorama in New Hampshire at 100.

Well, Michael, you can see that the courses in the Top 100 have an average score higher than 6.5.

Are you confused because you want to be or are you confused because this is hard to figure out?  It's not that hard unless you want it to be.
