The overall course is garbage and in horrible condition, but I had a lot of fun growing up on a little place called Tomoka Oaks in Florida. My best friend and I must have played that course 500 times growing up, and we always secretly hoped for a tie at the end of 18 so that we could replay 10, 16, 17, and 18 as a four-hole playoff loop.
10 is a 415 yard par four playing with a 90-degree dogleg right. OB tight to the right, so you have to be careful. If you play close to the corner, you'll leave yourself a short-iron into a small green well-protected on the left. If you play to the center, you're looking at a 4 or 5 iron in, with OB still prominent on the right. Good starter to a 4-hole playoff. 16 is a short par-4. Reminds me of the short par-4 at Doral where Tiger launched his drive over the trees to reach a few years back -- only left-to-right rather than right-to-left. You can launch your ball over OB on the right and leave yourself a pitch to the green, or you can lay an iron out to the middle and leave a short iron in. 17 is a 135yd par-3, well-protected in front, with a green similar to 7 at Engineers, that means some very close tee shots and lots of birdies -- unless you're over the green, where you're dead -- or would be if they could get the greens higher than 6 on the meter. 18 is a reachable, 530yd, usually downwind par-5, but very narrow with tree trouble right and left, and a well-placed bunker off the right side of the fairway. Second shot plays downhill with an open front to allow shots to roll on if hit right. Bunkers at 4 and 8, though, will gobble up the slightly offline shot.
If I had a dollar for every two-shot lead that was lost in our four-hole playoffs, I'd be several hundred better-off.
