Say a Prayer...
« on: August 30, 2006, 02:40:26 PM »
For those of us here in Los Cabos. Huge storm (Cat 4 maybe 5) coming our way and looking rather grim at this point.

Hopefully the golf courses here come through OK but more importantly in a storm like this hopefully we do not experience a human tragedy.

May be a while before we are back on line. Happy Labor Day!

I will say a prayer, Greg, for all of you in the path of this storm. Let us know, when you can, if there is anything anyone can do for you or the people of the region. We will follow this story and hope for the best.

Thanks guys... Battening down the hatches as we speak. 39 holes of golf have never been this well protected... now for the homestead.

Just wondering if anyone has an update.

Still thinking of you....

Whew... in the clear.

After a scary forecast this morning the storm took a northerly track around noon and stayed out in the Gulf of California. We received only rain.

A good stat for you... One sheet of plywood in Mexico (not gauging... regular price) $35 USD.

Well, back to put everything back together (after storing EVERYTHING in our homes and the resort for a major storm).  Good practice for the real thing.

Glad it wasn't so serious, Greg.   Maybe the prayers were answered.

Here in the Northeast we are bracing for Ernesto!  The over and under is 3" but, the radar models indicate between 5" - 10" over a 36 hour period.  We are all happy you dodged a bullet in Los Cabos but don't put away the prayer list just yet.  With saturation levels being reached days ago even 3" will be more than we can tolerate.  Already have the wet vac in the basement and the pump along side.  Our greens crew is also preparing for a long day and night of sqweeging (sp?) every green until the precip stops.
