For those that don't already know: Steve Curry, contributor here and course magician at Berkshire Hills CC in Pittsfield Ma., has been selected to work for head superintendent Gerry Byrne at the K-Club for this years Ryder Cup.

I noticed this while rummaging around at Steve's website:

Good luck Steve. Take a lot of photos and invite us up to see them when you get back !  ;D  ;D

Congratulations.  How does a yank get choosen and what will you be doing?   Also, how may supers have been choosen to work at this event?  Our super goes to work at Augusta each year but I've never been able to figure out what he/they do.

Is the "Steve Curry Greenspeed Barometer" method going to the K Club too?  ;)

I hope so, as it's the most sane and common-sensical greenspeed barometer imaginable. And it's even stimpmeterless!  ;)

Golfer:
"What's the stimpmeter reading number on our greens today Steve?"

Steverino Curry:
"It's whatever you want it to be, pal."

Jim,

Very excited about this trip.  My last trip to Ireland was long weekend for a Rugby Match.  I am very much looking forward to being involved with the Ryder Cup (on a cup changing crew at least during the event) and more so getting to know and spend time working with the many Irish Keepers of Green.

Steve,
Congratulations and have a great trip. I would be interested to hear what differences there are in the way US vs. Irish supers approach their course maintenance.

I came on to this thread thinking I was going to see an image of Peter Sellers asking for some curry, doing his best "Birdie Num Nums"/Hrundi V. Bakshi imitation from the movie, "The Party".

Knock'em dead Steve. I dare you to try to hold up a GCA sign ala the guy with the rainbow wig and the sign, John 3:16.

Steve,
Have fun big guy, but don't stay out too late ..."with the many Irish Keepers of Green." Cutting 'cups' early in the morning could be dangerous after being 'in the cups' the night before.   ;)
