I have not played the course but hope to play a competition there.

No posts, just IM's please. I'll delete in 2-3 days or when I get a response.

Dear Mr. Redan,
Scarsdale GC is in my neck of the woods. They host one of the really fun  local mid-am events, the Wilson Cup, a 36-hole, 52 team one day better-ball tournament.

My suggestion to you is to get your butt up here before you play and either walk the course or arrange to play a practice round. It's a hilly, tight property, and there are a fair amount of blind shots both to fairways and greens. The original course from 1898 was a nine holer laid out by Willie Dunn. In 1919, AW Tillinghast was brought in to redo the original nine and add nine more.

If I were preparing for a Senior Amateur qualifier, I would make it a point to see this course beforehand. I'd sign up to play with you but I'm just a babe of 52 years - too young ;D.

Bill..... mikes on target,   overall quite tight, many awkward stances, RTj or Cornish did some work......to large greens

very important to play a practice round,    on some holes severe  elevation change

doak 4 ?   but challenging

Bill

Barney has advised me to go qualify at Astoria in Oregon, as the bathtub fairways will kindly funnel all wild tee shots to the middle of the fairway.  It looks like I won't be able to make it, so there may be a slot for you!
