Yes, that's the one. It costs 13 euro to play. There are some very average holes there, but some great ones too. Langer used to go there to play before the British Open and the Irish Open, apparently.

Fellow GCAers:

Appreciate all your responses to my Q's - I believe that the sheer density of courses on offer in and around the various airports of W&E Scotland will give it the nod for the short time that I will have this time.

Cary L: with 2 young kids I don't want to spend too long away from my family. Hence the short trip.

Jack M: I spent a month going around Ireland in '99 and felt the west coast and in/around Dublin + NI were the main regions for mine. With more time I might have gone back for another visit but will come to you for your thoughts if I can extend my trip.

David T / BV: I will probably fly into Inverness and head up Nth to Royal Dornoch for another visit. I need to go back and see if I still hold it in the high esteem it already has with me. I didn't visit Boat of Garten or Golspie last time I was in the area so will make the effort to see them. David T - I stayed in Inverness and the drive to Dornoch was OK but there's nothing like staying near a great course is there ?  ;)

Tiger B: what's the stay at Greywalls hotel like at Muirfield ? Is it only open at various times of the year ?

Plabatt: appreciate your thoughts re: the seasons. BTW - I am also a Royal Porthcawl fan

I think a couple of days in Dornoch followed by a short flight to Edinburgh and across to Nth Berwick etc. should suffice nicely  :)

I'm sure you'll have a good time wherever you go. Actually, a lot of my American friends have played more Irish links courses than I have...
