I'm planning a trip down towards Philly with a buddy of mine for a few days of golf.  We are going to try and hit several courses that are in the general vicinity of each other over that time days (36 a day).

We are thinking of:

Pine Hill
Lederach (not sure what else is close by and good to see)
Glen Mills
Inniscrone (I think its public now)
Hartfield National


Not being that familiar with the area any suggestions on good places to see that are drivable in a Morning/Afternoon format would be appreciated.

You definitely need to make a trip to see Jeffersonville in Norristown, PA. It's a Ross/McGovern recently restored by Ron Prichard and is worth a trip.

Reading CC is about an 1-1.5 hour drive outside of Philadelphia and could be done in a long 36 hole day with Jeffersonville since Norristown is roughly 45 minutes from Reading.

If you are going to play Pine Hill, definitely play Scotland Run, only about 20 minutes from Pine Hill and a great course.

Coincidentally, when you are done with the Reading/Jeffersonville twinbill take a look at your wallet.

You can play both courses (on a weekend w/ carts and gas included) for about the same price as a green fee at Pine Hill or Glen Mills.

 If you play Glen Mills I would try Paxon Hollow. It is a little short but fun and close to GM. If you play Scotland Run I would try Twisted Dune. It is "downtheshore".

Thanks for all the suggestions.  It is quite helpful since I had forgotten about Kyle's and Mike Cirba's account of their trip to Jeffersonville.  Prior to my Philly trip I hope to get to The Hanover Golf Course up by Dartmouth which is another Prichard restore.

Jeffersonville is now firmly on the list!

Thanks for the Twisted Dune reminder as well.  I should play that since it has been a topic of lively discussion on this board.

For ease of logistics, I would play the courses at The Shore. I think the courses listed above are kind of scattered.

Atlantic City would be my anchor at the shore, expensive but you get to play a Flynn/Doak course

Twisted Dune on the same day.

While it may not be next door to other courses, I would defintely make time to see Glen Mills.  I consider it the best public option in close proximity to Philadelphia on the Pennsylvania side of the border and it is truly a unique training facility for the kids at the Glen Mills school.

I'd normally also consider Cobb's Creek, the granddaddy of the Philly muni's which was designed by Hugh Wilson.  I haven't been there this year but I have to imagine it has been hurt by the recent flooding.
