Yes, of course I should have included Stonewall.  And from Philadelphia, I'd say Atlantic City CC and Hidden Creek are certainly less than an hour--about 45-50 minutes as you say.

I didn't put the courses in any particular order though my feeling is that both Huntingdon Valley and Rolling Green are more interesting architecturally and better courses than Aronimink.  Yet there are a lot of knowledgable folks that feel as you do.

To answer the question of the thread, I think you need to define your terms a little more.  How many courses?  How big an area?  If we can then agree on ratings and a simple methodology -- average, most courses rated 10 on the Doak scale, are two examples -- an answer will pop out.
