Architectural Parallels

Is anyone aware of any studies or academic works examining the parallels between building architecture and golf course architecture by era or period?

Chris,
I have never seen anything.  IMHO Golf architecture is not nearly as structured as building architecture and many don't even consider it architecture but instead call it design.  Plus there has just never been enough golf architecture to even establish a curriculum for an education in the subject.  JMO

Chris:

You're kidding right?

Apparently you didn't follow those ongoing debates about Tom MacWood's conclusions on the influences of the "Arts and Crafts" Movement on golf course architecture.

He basically concluded that it was so strong that the great Golden Age of golf course architecture should be relabeled "Arts and Crafts Golf".   ;)
