Does Technology Make 6th at WFW a Better Hole

The 6th at WFW is 321 yards and plays downhill.  In practice VJ Singh came within a few yards of driving the green.  I don't think this was an option anyone considered in '74 and '84.  Modern technology makes it feasible for some long hitters to drive the green, although it's risky. Is it better hole as a drivable par 4?

Not with the penal rough!

A 2" collar of rough around the green with maybe some shaved area leading back to the stream would have really made this a tempting tee shot.

Alas, the big boys will be neutered...

That's a good question.

I disagree with the respondents to date.

With the pin cut in the front extension, trying to drive the green may be a terrific strategy if the wind is down.
