Photos from King's Putter V
« on: June 12, 2006, 11:13:12 AM »
I figured with the size of Huck's main KPV thread, some might
not be checking in any more, so I decided to start a new thread.

I have hole pics of Plantation and Stone Eagle for separate
threads at another time (left camera in hotel room during
Palms round), so these pics are the "people" pics, often the
ones I'm most interested in seeing from the GCA.com gatherings.

From the opening night dinner at The Capri, from left to right:
Jonathan Cummings, Bill McBride, Sean Leary, John Vander
Borght, Jeffrey Formanczyk, Tim Leahy, Bob Huntley at the
head of the table, Jesse Jones facing away from the camera,
Peter Pittock taking pics (I expect to see those posted
Peter!), and the Emperor.

Additional faces not seen in previous pic:  Joe Perches at
bottom, Jim Davidson between friend Bill McBride and Sean
Leary, and on the opposite side of table going away from
Tommy are Scott Wood, Pete Lavallee, Eric Franzen, and John "Sarge" Cullum.

Later, back at the hotel bar after dinner are (clockwise) Ryan
Simper, Sean Leary, John Bernhardt, Jerry Kluger?, Tommy, and Joe Perches.

Saturday night at The Beer Hunter are (l-r): Mike Benham?,
David Kelly, Ed Getka, John B's girlfriend Wendy, Evan
Fleisher's Great Aunt-In-Law Lois (local), Evan Fleisher, John B, and Tom Huckaby.

From l-r are: a staff member from Plantation invited to join
us, Tommy, standing are Jeff Fortson and Lou Duran, Jason
Topp, Peter Pittock w/the old GCA.com t-shirt, and Sean Leary.

On the putting green at Plantation are: Tony Petersen
("comtngolf"), Pete L., John B., and Tom H.

On the 1st tee are Joe P., Steve Pieracci, and Bob H.

Bob H tees off:

John B hits an approach to the par 5 4th at Plantation:

John B. hits an approach to the par 4 6th:

On the range Monday morning at Stone Eagle are:  Ran Morrissett, not sure (JB?), and Pete L.

A great view of SE:

Showing the connected fairways, in the foreground, John C.
awaits Pete L's blind approach to #9 as Tim Leahy awaits
Evan F on the neighboring 2nd hole.

John C. readies to hit into #9 after Tony P.'s approach:

Pete L. hits an approach to #11, with the par 3 15th green and the Valley in the distance:

John C. hits his approach to #11, with the par 5 13th green
and more of the valley off in the distance (Bighorn is somewhere over there)

John C. tees off on #17 (?) with more views of the valley in the background:

FANTASTIC!

Thanks for posting, Scott.  These are really cool - and it's always great to put names to faces.

I must say my hat remains exceedingly cool.  JB's swing is as smooth as silk.  Mr. Huntley can look cool in the most extreme heat.  I have a lot of other comments, but I'll save room for others people to chime in.

Not as cool as the Arsenal shirt that you sported at the Beer Hunter.

Eric:  oh yes, I do stand corrected.  That does set the standard for coolness without a doubt.

In case anyone notices, the dates on my pics are all 1-2
days off (ahead), due to me (enterred wrong date setting it
up, in addition to the 3-hour time difference from EDT, why
the date during dinner at The Capri changed and didn't
change from Beer Hunter to the next morning.  The dates should be 6/2-6/5.

John, I'm surprised some of our fashion critics  ::) haven't roasted you as they did young Jordan for having that shirt untucked

I assure you it didn't start out that way. By the back 9 I tired of fighting it and went for the added comfort in the climbing temps. I am 6'4" and have a difficult time finding shirts long enough to stay down.

Yeah, just what we need - more pictures of Yanks in Chino Shorts...quite the proper Beau Brummels, we are ;D

I have broken into a sweat just by LOOKING at these pics!

Stone Eagle does LOOK amazing, despite my previous thoughts.

Great to see these get-together photos - GCA affairs are the best!

Scott, I am shocked your camera still works after that many pictures of this old body. Huck thanks for the compliment.

Tom H - in the first photo from the Beer Hunter, is that a  double deuce of Fat Tire you're enjoying?

Indeed yes!
Great catch - you know your brews, Cabell.

Excellent choice Tom.

...you know your brews, Cabell.

I'm still laughing at that comment, but I will say that Fat Tire was my first introduction into the world of darker beers.

Bud. Coors, Miller, etc.. have never tasted the same since.

New Belgium doesn't distribute in Virginia, which is very sad.
