« on: June 06, 2006, 08:28:59 PM »
Interesting article about the recent restoration/renovation work done at two old line Denver clubs. Columbine CC, a 50 year old course, was designed by Henry Hughes who worked for Donald Ross at The Broadmoor and William Flynn at Cherry Hills. The restoration work was done by Ron Forse and Jim Nagle. Green Gables CC, a 70 year old course, original architect unknown, was completely redisgned by Arthur Hills.

Interesting to read about the changes at Columbine.  I played it about three years ago on a crisp Fall day and thoroughly enjoyed the mix of holes. I didn't seem to think of it as a housing tract, however, especially not in a "Florida" or n "Myrtle Beach" kind of way.  I can't wait to see it again, especially what sound like dramatic changes to the 4th and 6th holes.  I remember the fifth being an interesting short par 4, creek guarding a very undulating green.  Overall, I liked Columbine.
