"Beautifying the Bunkers" at Burning Tree, 1925

In the midst of doing some research, I came across this page in the USGA Green Section bulletin, dated June 16, 1925. Thought some of you might be interested.

Jeff,
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Maybe your photo here is a good example showing two different styles of sand lines.  Some might say the second photo shows a bunker that is overdone for a parkland setting.  Others might say the first photo shows a boring bunker.  Who is right?

There are reasons why I didn't comment on the "beautification" of this particular bunker, back in 1925, Mark  ;D

I simply found this 83 year old burb amusing.
