Glad to hear it. I was hoping to send more goodies but we've been too busy of late.

I wonder if you can distinguish the difference between 110 deg F on Friday, and the 106 deg F on Monday?

My plans for a Friday afternoon round near Ontario have fallen apart.  Anyone have an opening?

110 and 106 feels no different, but 110 with no wind versus 110 with 2mph wind even feels worlds different.

Course 2: Sunday

Course 3: Sunday
High 111°F Precip 0% Wind: WSW 15 mph Max. Humidity: 27% UV Index: 10+

Course 3: Monday

Well, as a great man pointed out to me in an IM, I guess I won't have to worry about warmth for keeping my aching back loose....

As an FYI to Joe's listing above, the max humidities don't occur with the max temps.  The humidities during max temps will be around 10%, according to weather.com, and causes the heat index to be ~5 degrees lower than the actual air temp.

Forget heat index. We are going to get our brains fried, let's face it.

Gentlemen -

Please let's not paint a doom and gloom picture of this weekend.  People have lived in the Cochella Valley for years, and many even stay during the hot months ... Wow !!!

Let's remember that we will be for the most part, in covered golf carts with the occasionally 25-yard stroll to the tee box, fairway or green.  I don't plan on doing a triathalon this weekend and neither do any of you.

I would much rather be in 105 degree weather in the Cochella Valley than 105 degree in the San Francisco Bay Area.

If these temperatures scare you, give you thoughts that you might not be prepared, then perhaps you should refrain from playing.  Common sense is all that we need ... and water.

Mike

Ps:  Of course, I probably just jinxed myself ...

No doom and gloom for me - I love the desert in the summer - as Huck said, no need to "loosen up" the muscles and joints - I'm game for 54/day in 110 degree heat

SoCal will thrive in the heat.

I just want to make sure that nobody from out of town drops dead.  It would put a crimp in the weekend.

Tiger - thanks, my friend.  But oh hell, there was never much doubt I'd miss this... it's the highlight of the golf season, after all.  I shall be playing wounded - but what the hell, that might do me good.

I won't get down there till Saturday morning - save some fun for me.

You won't have to worry about BenGay, just go stand outside for a couple of minutes!  :o

And it won't be hit and drag Huckaby, we'll throw you in a cart and haul Huckaby!

It's gotta be cooler feeling than the 95 degrees 45% humidity here in Penacola today.  Hurricane season arrived with a vengeance.  :(

Bill...Lots of rain in Stumptown today but long range forecast looks promising for next week...

Of course if you believe a Portland forecaster, you probably bought swampland down there in FLA.  ;D

Looking forward to the live report from your desert adventure!

innocent question:  so what do you do there in the summer?

desert denizen (matter of factly):  play golf.

Weather here in LA is hot and dry. We'll wave hello to you as we head off this afternoon up to Vegas, no golf clubs in tow!
