New courses under 7,000 yards
« on: June 05, 2006, 12:39:06 PM »
Kindly help with some numbers?

I'm adding a number to Doak's analysis of Golf's top courses - x% are not par 72, half do not return to the clubhouse, no car paths...

What new projects are under 7,000 yards?
Any high dollar projects?
What is the length of Sebonack?

I have the lists from Golf Digest and Mag from their top 100s and am using those.

The project I'm researching for is an under $25 green fee, and the request was made to make the course over 7,000 yards.

I'll post my final list when complete.

Thank you.
Thinking of Bob, Rihc, Bill, George, Neil, Dr. Childs, & Tiger.

Mike:

Of the last courses I've designed:

Under 7000: Pacific Dunes, Barnbougle Dunes, St. Andrews Beach, Stonewall North, Tumble Creek (I had to check, it's 6928), Ballyneal, Stone Eagle, Bay of Dreams.

Over 7000:  Cape Kidnappers 7100 [he wanted the NZ Open], Sebonack 7300 [Jack and Michael], Rock Creek 7400 [it is at 5000 feet], The Renaissance Club at Archerfield [they want to hold a professional event].

I'm doing my best to hold down the average, and I don't think the total from the tips has had anything to do with the relative rankings of these courses.
