So I am in Dallas playing Vaquero (liked it) and was talking to one of the members after my round about some of the places I have played and this other member comes over and says, "I have played Pine Valley, Oakmont, Augusta, all of the top 100 and you want to know the best course in the country?... Sage Valley".

I said "Weldon Wyatt's course?"

"Oh, you heard of it? It is the best course in th country bar none".

Well, I have played Sage Valley and really liked it, but I would not say it is #1. Top 100 for sure (for me Matt), but not #1. I don't know anyone on this site that would say it is #1, but this gentleman says it is. Does the general public prefer eye candy over substance?

Jim,

I told a similar story on this site a few weeks ago.  A member of my club played Augusta this year and was raving about the place, how he stayed in the cabin by the pro shop, ate dinner next to Ben Crenshaw and Hottie Johnson.  But then he said that he played Sage Valley the day before, and that SAGE VALLEY was a better golf course!

I haven't played either so I can't really comment.  Adam Messix did say at the time that he has heard this comment as well numerous times.

Hope all is well with you down in B-more.

Jason

Hahahaha...Archie!   ;D

C'mon under...it's not too squished down here?  From this vantage point I can still see the tracks of the spikes of the C&C legions walking away muttering, "damn guys don't appreciate subtlety".  ;)

If it's so subtle that you can't see it, does it exist?   ;D
