Primland course may be Steel's best!
« on: May 20, 2006, 11:19:03 AM »
Who ever heard of links style bunkers 2850 feet above sea level? Donald did a great here. Alittle odd that there are  5 par 5's and 5 par 3's. Just over 7000 from the tips with over 200 feet of elevation. The course is on top of a mountain overlooking the Dan River Valley, VA. Very severe site with alot of rock blasted and dirt moved but it looks like it was there forever. Great golf course!!!!!!!

This course has sure flown way under the radar. Any websites that offer pictures?
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

This is a duplicate thread. See Scott Burrough's thread below.

In any event, take a look:

Jeff--

It sure is nice to see you post.  I hope that you are doing well.  I had the good fortune of having dinner with Mssrs. Dalziel (and it is pronounced nothing like it is spelled) and Steel when they visited Cashiers a couple of years ago.  Both were gentlemen of the first order and fun to talk to about the game.  They were looking at our clubhouse as a model for their golf house, I will be interested to see how it turns out.

I'm sure of one thing, Primland will have alot of interest in the greens and their surrounds.  Hope to get up their sometime soon.
