You've got to include French Lick.  In addition to the well known 8th you'd have to throw in the 16th and 17th for sure, also a few others.

3 and 9 St Andrews Beach Gunnamatta course, although both are horrifically unfair and need more calming than an 80 year old spinster who finds Woman's Day without a Bec and Lleyton story.

After touring Engineers today I'd have to say all 19 of them make this list.

After an 8-putt, yes that is correct, 8-putt, from 10 feet on the 16th green at Bethpage Black, it was the 14-footer rammed back up the false front to where the cup had been cut about an inch above it that I sank for my 12!

Or as Davis Love III said during the 2002 U.S. Open, "I mean, the 15th green is the most severe green I've ever played in the United States. It's more severe than anything at Augusta."

I believe it is the 'E' green at the sheep ranch which has the largest buried the buried elephant I've even encountered on a green.

Also, #8 at Newport National is a bit crazy in that it is nearly a perfect rectangle (with corners) when viewed in two dimensions, but the contour is quite dramatic - most notably a huge hump on the front right portion of the green.

As for crazy bad, I just don't think it gets any worse than #4 at Gillette Ridge in CT.  40 or 50 yards deep and about 6 paces wide, this green just isn't receptive to the shots you need to hit from the distance of the tee (about 180 from the standard men's tee.)  The enormous pit bunkers cut closely on either side don't help, but that's for a different thread.

I have posted before on a course I have always liked but have thought design-wise was so so, a replica of Pine Valley called Washington National.

Boy I cannot wait for my turn to play PVGC if the replica greena sre this good.

I will find a picture of #18, which rises 9 (!) feet from bottom to top and has six something tiers.  Incredible!

Stone Eagle has some of the most undulating I have played that don't come across as silly to me.

By contrast, I have played some Robert Trent Jones (I think Jr.) greens with all sorts of undulation that I did not like although for the life of me I cannot tell you why I liked Stone Eagle and did not like the Jones greens.  Hopefully it is more than predisposition with respect to the architects and I think it is.

This one in France was crazy although not very funny. 10 foot of elevation and not even the flat parts were flat enough to stop a ball from rolling god knows where.

That back pin position would have been interesting.

Many of RTJ's greens on the RTJ golf Trail are very undulating.  I thought it worked pretty well at most of the sites, but at the Judge the greens tended to run a bit too far for the slopes.  I think it is becasue it is one of the "premier" courses on the Trail, so they have to keep it up to people's expectation of what premier is.

I enjoyed the greens more at the slightly slower pace of The Senator and at the courses at Oxmoor Valley and Cambrian Ridge.
