John:

That's an interesting photo, I wonder how many aficionados will be able to follow it.  You've got some holes planted and growing in nicely, a couple that were just planted (far left of photo), and some that are still being shaped (the sandy blotches at the top).  Plus instead of cart paths leading you to the next hole, you've got maintenance roads that look like a go cart track.

I am sure that some will recognize it but I would be curious whether those unfamiliar can even sort out heads from tails.

That sure looks like Ballyneal to me. The photo was taken early in the summer of 2005.

The front 9 holes are in the upper left of the photo. No. 6 is on the far left. No. 9 is the green one in the middle.

No. 18 is the hole on the far right. No. 16 is at the bottom of the photo. The really wide fairway is No. 13.

I want to point out No. 16, the green hole at the bottom of the photo. It's a par 5 that plays uphill after the tee shot to a small green that's tucked between the dunes. It's guarded in the front by a pot bunker. Reachable in two if the wind is right, but your view can be slightly obscured and from some angles you need to play your second over a dune that cuts in from the left side. It's one of the most interesting par 5 second shots I've encountered.

Wow, didn't think it would come that quick! I guess if I checked who was online it might have lasted a while longer. I would have known you two at the least would know.

For those other night owls, I hope to get at least one or two more out tonite.

Very cool.  Great to see how spread out everything is.  Obvious that Renaissance went after the best golf holes on the property.  While I have never hunted, I love the idea of clubs that offer a variety of passions.  I am blown away by the beauty of the ground level photos I have seen of BN, and you know the playability will be there.  Probably especially fun in the wind.  What a treat.

Also the architect and owners are class acts.  I hear the sky in that area often looks incredible.

John:  Couldn't you get one of those beautiful skies in the aerial?  Ha, Ha

Scott,

I learned well at the feet of the master! Just these two was not easy, one thing I found is a 19" LCD is much much easier than a 15" tube.

There are a few others that I was looking at especially one 36 hole place that looks amazing.
