Drawings of GCA.com
« on: May 14, 2006, 11:08:40 PM »
I've always thought this would be a unique thread and could offer some interesting insights on both our design tastes and preferences.  Now, if you guys are anything like me, I'm sure you've all sketched, or drawn in detail, a couple, if not a thousand golf holes, you would like to build or play.  So in an attempt to see different styles and cool new holes, without having to pay $10,000 to put it in the ground, lets see some of your drawings or sketches.  Digital Pictures or Scans should both work.

To get this thread jump started, I will display some of my designs.  This is a drawing I am doing for a friend and have been working on it for over thirty hours.  It is designed in the rugged classical style, with the emphasis being on where you hit your shots, not how far. Simple Strategery ;)

Close Up of Details in the bunkering

Green Setting of the 560 yard Par 5, 5th

Approach to the downhill 580 yard Par 5, 10th

Double Green on the Ocean of the Par 3, 15th and Par 4, 3rd

Short 310 yard Par 4, 14th along Ocean

Wide Angle of the 14th Green Right and Double Green of 15th and 3rd

Wide Angle of Par 5, 5th, and Par 4, 2nd in Upper Right Corner

Right hand side of Course, with Driving Range to the left middle

OK, lets see lots of pictures, this could be a pretty neat little thread to see how we go about designing our own PERFECT course!!!

In my office there is a computer screen in a public area that is approximately 18" x 36". I figure that just might be what is necessary to make any sense of your drawings.  Unfortunately, I know nothing about posting pictures of different sizes to fit on this forum and be reasonably visible, so I can't help you there.

Jonathon,,

Nice drawings!

You have to remember some of us old folks don't know how to draw OR put drawings on the computer!  ;D

Jonathan....good effort!....just remember to keep your head down and hit harder back.....I like it and it all really starts exactly where you are at....and depends on how much you want to give to recieve.

Here is a drawing Adam Foster Collins asked me to post.  Very nice work!! I love the descriptions of the strategy involved, while playing the hole!!

Here's my dream course on a little piece of property in the Sand Hills of Nebraska. With varying tees you can play it at a par of 69 all the way to 73, depending on which tees you play.
